Our Mission

Thank you for choosing CHI Health for your care. Our mission at CHI Health is to care for the body, mind and spirit of every person. To do this, all CHI Health employees are expected to serve others by incorporating specific behaviors, Commitments, into their daily work. Our primary goal is to provide the highest quality of care. We also believe it is important that you and your family understand what is happening and are comfortable communicating with caregivers about the services and care we provide.

Guest Information Guide

The Guest Information Guide has information that will be helpful to you and your loved ones during your stay. If you have questions, we will be happy to answer them for you, or go to the Patient Rights and Concerns page. Please let a member of your health care team know what we can do to make you and your family more comfortable during your stay.

Purpose

At CHI Health, we believe that the best healthcare is built on a foundation of mutual trust, respect, and open communication. To ensure that all of our patients receive timely, high-quality care, we have established clear guidelines regarding clinic attendance. Our goal is always to work with you to resolve any challenges before they affect your care.

Attendance Policy

We work hard to respect your time and keep our schedules running on time. When an appointment is missed or canceled at the last minute, it prevents another patient who may be waiting in pain or needing urgent care from seeing a provider.

  • What We Ask of You: Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointments. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us as far in advance as possible.

  • Definitions:

    • No-Show: missing your scheduled appointment without notifying the clinic before the appointment’s start time.

    • Late Cancellation: cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the appointment time.

    • Late Arrival: arriving more than 15 minutes past your scheduled appointment time.

  • Our Policy on Repeated Missed Visits: We understand that emergencies happen. However, a consistent pattern of three or more no-shows, late cancellations, or late arrivals within a rolling 12-month period may result in being dismissed from our care.

  • How We Support You:
    • First Occurrence: We will send you a friendly letter to acknowledge the missed visit and help you reschedule.
    • Second Occurrence: We will send a second letter reminding you of our policy and warning you that a third occurrence may affect your status as a patient. We will help you reschedule your appointment.
    • Third Occurrence: If a third occurrence happens, you will receive a third letter and your care team will review the situation, which may result in a formal dismissal from our clinic or medical group.
  • Special Note for New Patients: To ensure we can establish care properly, new patients who miss their first appointment will be contacted to reschedule. If a second consecutive initial appointment is missed, we may not be able to schedule future visits.

Questions or Need Support?

If you are facing transportation issues, financial hurdles, or other challenges that make it difficult to keep your appointments, please reach out to your provider or message us in your MyChart Patient Portal. We are here to help you succeed!

Visiting Hours

CHI Health supports a family-centered care environment that encourages family and friends to visit patients. We do not have restricted visiting hours. Periodically, visitation may be limited because of special circumstances that may arise. We also recognize the importance of our new mothers' needs and have a nap time every day from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., however, moms do have the option of having visitors during this time. Children are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. If you have any questions, please talk to a nurse or care provider.

Visiting Virtually

We encourage family and friends to stay in touch with patients virtually. Please let the care team know if your loved one needs assistance setting up Zoom while in the hospital. Learn how to set up a personal Zoom account.

Gift Shops

Operated by hospital auxiliaries, our gift shops offer a variety of gifts in all price ranges, greeting cards, fresh flowers, snacks, personal care items, reading material and much more! You can stop in and take a gift with you, or call the gift shop and they can assist you in selecting a gift or fresh flowers. We’ll verify that the recipient is still a patient in the hospital. We’ll process your order and payment, then deliver your gift right away! Go to the Gift Shops page.

Welcome Centers

Each CHI Health hospital has a Welcome Center, located in the lobby. The staff can inform you about cafeteria hours, valet parking (if available), gift shop hours, and other amenities.
