Heart Care Partnership

CHI Health St. Mary’s is pleased to provide patients with superior heart and vascular care through an exclusive partnership with the Nebraska Heart Institute (NHI).

CHI Health Nebraska Heart has been ranked as the top cardiac hospital in Nebraska by the Healthgrades organization for eight consecutive years. The same NHI cardiovascular physicians from Nebraska Heart also practice at St. Mary’s. This partnership allows us to provide our patients with a high level of specialization in the fast-advancing field of cardiology.

Because we work together, you can be confident knowing that your care team utilizes the Nebraska Heart approach that has proven to offer superior patient outcomes based on a variety of measures. In addition, you have access to the state’s most experienced and successful program to replace the aortic heart valve without opening the chest, and soon, the state’s first program to repair the mitral heart valve with a similar catheter-based technology.

Occupational therapists assist people in developing life skills that allow them to lead productive and satisfying lives through customized treatment designed to improve one’s ability to perform normal daily activities. Therapists work with other health care professionals to create a care plan based on the physical, psychosocial, communal, and environmental factors that influence each individual’s ability to function.

Therapists help patients overcome disability, adapt material or equipment for ease of use, or recommend changes to an individual’s daily environment. Many also work to help prevent patient injury.

  • Individuals who function as caregivers for loved ones with debilitating diseases

Our philosophy

  • Individualized therapy sessions and continual modifications to the treatment program
  • Team-oriented environment with constant interdepartmental communication
  • Evidence-based practices with an emphasis on manual therapy and therapeutic exercise
  • Continuation of individualized home exercise program (facilitated with a 30-day pass to the Ambassador Wellness Center upon discharge)
