Abbee is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist. She received her Master of Science in Education at the University of Nebraska – Kearney in 2010 and holds her Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology. She is a member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and Nebraska Speech –Language Hearing Association (NSLHA). Initially she joined the St. Mary’s therapy team as a PRN member in 2013, but in 2016 made the switch to come on board 3x a week.
She provides complete diagnostic and therapeutic speech therapy services for inpatient and/or outpatients of all ages. These services are designed to maximize each patient’s cognitive, communicative, and swallowing abilities as needed. Impairments addressed may include the following:
• Cognitive deficits
• Language deficits (apraxia, aphasia, developmental delay, dysarthria)
• Speech deficits
• Difficulty in swallowing
• Voice Disorders
• Augmentative and Alternative Communication
• Modified Barium Swallow Studies using videofluoroscopy to assess the swallowing mechanism
• Certification in LSVT Loud Program
Abbee loves being involved in her rural community and in her spare time loves spending time with her 3 small children and husband.
