Pulmonary medicine and respiratory care address a broad spectrum of conditions that affect the way we breathe. Our lung specialists, including pulmonologists and respiratory therapists, provide comprehensive care to patients suffering from a broad spectrum of illnesses including pneumonia, bronchitis, COPD, asthma, and neuromuscular disorders. They also provide support for patients recovering from surgery, trauma, cardiac/respiratory arrest, and metabolic disorders. Respiratory care is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to patients ranging in age from newborn to seniors.
Our respiratory care department provides diagnostic screening and testing that assists our medical staff in the diagnosis of lung conditions such as pulmonary fibrosis, emphysema, asthma, and chronic bronchitis. Diagnostic services are available for both inpatients and outpatients.
For more information, call the respiratory care department at (308) 398-5644.
The department has an active pulmonary rehab program that has been used by hundreds of patients in the Grand Island area to help them cope with a chronic lung disease.
