Dr. Thompson has been practicing in the Lincoln community for 12 years and comes to CHI Health Nebraska Heart and CHI Health St. Elizabeth from Bryan Heart. During this time, he has performed more than 3,000 heart surgeries and 2,000 lung surgeries. In 2013, Dr. Thompson became the first physician in Nebraska to perform a robotic lobectomy. His care has led to positive patient outcomes and quality scores, with a lifetime STS (Society of Thoracic Surgeons) CABG (coronary artery bypass grafting) mortality rate of 1.1 percent - putting him in the top 10 percent of surgeons across the country. He is looking forward to bringing his expertise and excellence to CHI Health Nebraska Heart and CHI Health St. Elizabeth.
Dr. Kruger has served as the VP, Chief Medical Officer at CHI Health St. Elizabeth and Nebraska Heart since May 2022. Dr. Kruger's priority is to make St. Elizabeth and Nebraska Heart Hospital outstanding places to provide medical care and to receive medical care. Dr. Kruger previously served as the medical director for CHI Health Partners, medical director for the CHI Health Emergency Medicine Service Line, and medical director for the EMS system in Lincoln and Lancaster County. Dr. Kruger is a prior Chief of Staff at St. Elizabeth. Dr Kruger began practicing as an emergency physician at St. Elizabeth in 2007. Dr. Kruger completed his undergraduate degree and medical school at the University of Iowa and received his Master’s in Healthcare Management from Harvard University.
Jenny Stachura began her career in healthcare at CHI Health St. Elizabeth in 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and a master of science in nursing executive leadership. She also has a nursing certification. She has held various roles within the organization, including a staff nurse on the Progressive Care Unit, a Heart Failure Coordinator, the Director of Critical Care Services, and VP of Patient Care Services. Jenny is married with two sons, lives on an acreage outside of Hickman, Nebraska, and enjoys spending time with family, gardening, cooking and cheering on the Huskers.
Tyler has served in a number of capacities at CHI Health including Campus Analyst, Director of Financial Operations (for Midlands, Lakeside and Mercy Council Bluffs) and most recently as Divisional Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. Tyler, who is married and has two children, resides in Gretna.
Spencer has extensive experience in Human Resources and Leadership and comes to CHI after spending the last ten years in cross-cultural leadership positions in Asia. He is the Human Resources Business Partner for both St. Elizabeth and Nebraska Heart Hospital. Spencer served in the U.S. Army prior to joining a Fortune 50 company in an HR leadership role. Spencer partners with leaders to build a positive, accountable, high-performance culture. Spencer enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids, traveling and outdoor activities..
