Derek Vance, FACHE, President, CHI Health St. Elizabeth and Nebraska Heart

Derek started at St. Elizabeth/Nebraska Heart in November 2017. He has 18 years of health care leadership experience, most recently serving as CEO of the LewisGale Hospital in Pulaski, Virginia. A graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in management, Vance received a master’s in health administration from Ohio State University. He is an accomplished CEO who sees the most important part of his job as driving a positive culture of high engagement.

Michael Rapp, MD, FACS, Vice President of Medical Operations

Dr. Rapp has been the VP of Medical Operations for St. Elizabeth since February 2017. He is a strong proponent for physicians and has held several medical leadership roles at St. Elizabeth, CHI Health Partners, CHI Health and in Lancaster County. Dr. Rapp practiced as an ENT physician in Lincoln from 1991-2017. In addition to this role he also serves as the CHI Health Partners Medical Director for the Lincoln Chapter.

Timothy Plante, RN, MSN, MHA, Vice President of Patient Care Services

Timothy Plante holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing, master of science in nursing and master of health administration. He has worked in health care since 2003 in various positions. Tim spent four years in the United States Navy as an electrician before attending nursing school, graduating in 2003. He has also held positions of intensive care unit nurse, critical care clinical manager and emergency department director, associate vice president of patient care services, and president and CEO of a Critical Access Hospital. Tim is married with four children, lives in Elkhorn, Nebraska, and enjoys spending time with family and doing church and sporting activities.

Tyler DeJong, Vice President of Operational Finance

Tyler has served in a number of capacities at CHI Health including Campus Analyst, Director of Financial Operations (for Midlands, Lakeside and Mercy Council Bluffs) and most recently as Divisional Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. Tyler, who is married and has two children, resides in Gretna.

Spencer Neill, Senior Human Resources Business Partner

Spencer has extensive experience in Human Resources and Leadership and comes to CHI after spending the last ten years in cross-cultural leadership positions in Asia. He is the Human Resources Business Partner for both St. Elizabeth and Nebraska Heart Hospital. Spencer served in the U.S. Army prior to joining a Fortune 50 company in an HR leadership role. Spencer partners with leaders to build a positive, accountable, high-performance culture. Spencer enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids, traveling and outdoor activities..
