The mission of the Nebraska Heart Institute Department of Research is to advance knowledge in the prevention, diagnosis, and investigation of cardiovascular disease and to continually improve the delivery of healthcare to patients. Studies undertaken by Nebraska Heart are carefully selected to ensure that all offer a possible benefit to the patient previously unavailable and achieve scientific merit.
Our research department is fully dedicated to conducting clinical studies for the advancement of heart and vascular disease treatment. Currently, 28 cardiologists, surgeons, and anesthesiologists serve as investigators for various studies. In addition, the department includes full-time nurse practitioners, pharmacists, research nurses, exercise physiologists and research assistants.
Studies are conducted at NHI offices including Lincoln, Grand Island, Hastings, as well as the Nebraska Heart Hospital, located in southeast Lincoln. Many studies are also available to patients on an outreach basis. View our active clinical trials here.
