Ambulance Services

CHI Health Good Samaritan has provided paramedic-level emergency ambulance service to the city of Kearney and Buffalo County Fire District #1 since 1988. Good Samaritan Hospital's paramedics also provide mutual aid response to area ambulance and rescue squads in order to bring the emergency department closer to the patient

Long distance ambulance services based in Kearney and McCook also provide quality Basic and Advanced Life Support for patients being transferred from one facility to another.


All of our paramedics are licensed in the State of Nebraska and have the ability to:

  • Obtain Vascular access
  • Interpret and treat cardiac dysrhythmias
  • Administer drug therapy
  • Acquire and transmit 12 leads ECGs from the back of the ambulance to a physician at Good Samaritan
  • Defibrillate, perform synchronized defibrillation, and apply external pacemaker
  • Perform needle chest decompression
  • Perform endotracheal and nasotracheal intubation, and surgical cricothyrotomy
  • Provide respiratory support including CPAP
