Since the CHI Health Good Samaritan Foundation was founded in 1985, philanthropy has played a crucial role in providing a measure of excellence that has come to define CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital and Richard Young Behavioral health. In today’s challenging healthcare environment, an increased emphasis has been placed on the importance of philanthropic support.
At CHI Health Good Samaritan, providing outstanding medical care to the region is what we do best. Over the years, we’ve steadily worked to be one of the best comprehensive care hospitals providing health care in central Nebraska. Our full range of medical services include a Level II Trauma Center providing the highest level of trauma, surgical and critical care, heart and vascular care, surgery, orthopedics, maternity, cancer care and diagnostic imaging.
CHI Health Good Samaritan Foundation is a nonprofit corporation that is governed by a Board of Directors. The Foundation staff, volunteers and hospital leadership collaborate to cultivate and solicit contributions that enhance the mission of Good Samaritan.
Because we recognize everyone’s situation is unique, planned gifts and annual giving vary depending on individual circumstances. A wide range of giving opportunities is available but Annual Giving is a major source of support for current operations.
Our patients and our community have been at the center of our mission since 1924. As we celebrate almost 100 years of providing health care in Central Nebraska, we continue the legacy of the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration by caring for every patient in mind, body and spirit.

The Good Samaritan Services Dept needs to replace six aging ambulances within the fleet. The units cover 911 calls, long distance transports within the coverage area, and can be seen on standby at structure fires and home football games. Have you or someone you love needed assistance from our EMS Dept? By giving to the Ambulance Replacement Project, our community and grateful patients have the opportunity to contribute to the programs or services that are close to your heart.

Has your life been touched by a special caregiver or doctor? Our medical staff touch the lives of patients and their families every day by going above and beyond. With a unique combination of expertise, skill and compassion, they help provide vital services and the very best care for all members of our community. Our “Thank a Caregiver” program is a wonderful way to say thank you to a special caregiver at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital or Richard Young Behavioral Health.
We encourage our grateful patients to show their appreciation for the excellent care they received from all team members within a department or from a special individual.
You may make a gift to the Good Samaritan Foundation in honor of that caregiver or department team.
You may even designate which specific area of the hospital you would like to receive this gift in honor of the caregiver(s).
The caregiver/department is notified that a patient has made a gift in their name and they are honored with a special recognition. Gift amount is not disclosed to the honorees.
We invite you to express your appreciation for those caregivers who have touched your life in a special way by making a gift online at give.CHIHealth.com/GoodSamaritan or call (308) 865-2705.
