We use utilize high resolution video and audio and digital medical peripherals to manage patient care in our critical access hospitals.
Hospitalists are qualified residency-trained physicians who specialize in the care of hospitalized patients. CHI Health utilizes a small group of these physicians as tele-hospitalists, utilizing high resolution video and audio and digital medical peripherals to manage patient care in our rural hospital network. Telehospitalists collaborate with specially trained CHI Health nurses and onsite physicians through a secure telemedicine network to bring the hospitalist into the patient room virtually from an off-site location.
Telehospitalists work closely with primary care physicians, specialists, nurses, therapists, and care managers to coordinate care centered on the patient’s needs. Results to the patient --- real time care 24x7 and treatment plans starting in a timely fashion.
Telehealth allows us to deliver a new model of healthcare and provide our patients access and availability to hospitalist expertise and a higher quality of care.
