To improve stroke care for our community, we focus on three areas of education - providers and partners, health care teams, and the community.
If you know of an opportunity to help spread Stroke education, please contact Amber at (402) 219-7563.
CHI Health partners with Creighton University for various research projects. More details coming soon.
Hospital Care Teams
We have Bi-weekly Neurology Grand Rounds, specific training for stroke nurses, mock stroke drills, annual education requirements, and even non-clinical staff have annual education on spotting a stroke and how to activate the proper care teams.
Providers and Partners
CHI Health annually hosts Nebraska's only Neurology Conference. We provide on-site education at partner facilities along with regular education and case reviews with our local EMS teams. Our Neurology Residency Program though Creighton University Department of Neurology is ready to educate our future providers.
Community Stroke Education is important! People in our community need to be educated on spotting a stroke and understand the importance of BEFAST(call 911 immediately). We have Stroke Coordinators placed strategically around the communities we serve and provide stroke education to as many people as we can reach. Pictured is Beth Bene, stroke coordinator with the Fort Calhoun Fire Department.
