Every new mom wants the best for her baby and studies show that starts with breastfeeding. Breast milk is rich in nutrients and antibodies to protect your baby. For most babies it’s easier to digest and helps fight disease. It also helps you bond with your baby. There are some challenges to breastfeeding. To help mom and baby connect, CHI Health provides onsite lactation teams. They can walk you through any questions or problems you might have.
Breastfeeding right after childbirth can take time and patience but with a little practice and the help of our lactation team, you and your baby are not alone. We encourage you to attend our breastfeeding support groups for encouragement, advice, and assistance. The smalls groups are led by a lactation counselor within the hospital.
Our lactation consultants offer mothers one-on-one breastfeeding support and encouragement. All are International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) and have helped hundreds of mothers work through breastfeeding challenges.
