At CHI, facial filler treatments are done only by board-certified surgeons. Facial filler is an outpatient procedure, performed in the office, to help soften the appearance of wrinkles, folds and hollows. How long the effect lasts depends on the location and type of product used.
*Not all locations provide facial fillers
● Temporary pain, bruising or swelling at the injection site
● Allergic reaction (immediate or delayed)
● Infection
● Irregularities in skin color or texture
● Rarely, damage to blood vessels or vision compromise
The procedure has minimal discomfort. Your doctor may use one or more various methods to numb the area, such as topical or local anesthesia, ice and/or a vibration tool.
Your doctor uses a very thin needle to inject small amounts of the product. The number of injections depends on what is being treated. Filler injections are usually performed in a doctor's office.
You can return to your normal activities right after the procedure. Avoid aggressively rubbing the treated area for 24 hours. You will be asked to apply ice to the treated area. You may be asked to come for a 2 week follow up.
The results are noticeable immediately with improved volume in the treated area. The product gradually wears off, lasting 6 months - 2 years, depending on the product. You will need to come at regular intervals to maintain the result.
