CHI Health imaging locations are accredited by the American College of Radiology for Excellent Imaging. Our personnel are well qualified, through education and certification, to perform and interpret your medical images.
Established in 2004, the Commission on Cancer (CoC)’s Outstanding Achievement Award (OAA) is designed to recognize cancer programs that strive for excellence in demonstrating compliance with the CoC standards and are committed to ensuring high quality cancer care. A CoC-Accredited cancer program is eligible to earn the OAA after completing the accreditation survey and receiving a Performance Report that indicates an accreditation award of “Three-Year with Commendation.” Specifically, the program must receive commendation ratings for the seven commendation level standards and no deficiencies for the remaining 27 standards. The CHI Health Regional Cancer Center achieved this award in 2019.
The Commission on Cancer (CoC), a program of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS), recognizes cancer care programs for their commitment to providing comprehensive, high-quality, and multidisciplinary patient centered care. The CoC is dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients through standard-setting, prevention, research, education, and the monitoring of comprehensive quality care. The Cancer Centers at CUMC - Bergan Mercy, Good Samaritan, Immanuel, Lakeside, Mercy Council Bluffs, Midlands, St. Elizabeth and St. Francis have achieved this award.
The NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) is a national NCI-supported network that brings cancer prevention clinical trials and cancer care delivery research (CCDR) to people in their communities. The Cancer Centers at Good Samaritan and St. Francis participate in this program.
This designation is awarded to breast imaging centers that achieve excellence by seeking and earning accreditation in all of the ACR’s voluntary breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program. The imaging centers at CHI Health Lakeside CHI Health St. Francis have achieved this award.
The CHI Health Breast Health Center at Lakeside and the CHI Health Regional Cancer Center is accredited by the American College of Surgeon's National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. Accreditation by the NAPBC is granted only to those centers that are voluntarily committed to providing the best possible care to patients with diseases of the breast. Each breast center must undergo a rigorous evaluation and review of its performance and compliance with NAPBC Standards. The Cancer Centers at CUMC - Bergan Mercy, Lakeside and St. Francis have this accreditation.
The CHI Health Breast Health Center has achieved the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers (NQMBC™) Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence accreditation. This is the highest certification level. This certification recognizes a center’s quality performance as meeting quality standards criteria. In addition to the requirements to become a Certified Participant, the Certified Quality Breast Center applicant must have supplied 90% of the measures for which their quality breast center type should be able to measure performance. The Imaging Centers at Lakeside and St. Francis have achieved this award.
CHI Health Regional Cancer Center is a QOPI® Certified Practice. Certification by the QOPI Certification Program is an acknowledgement that this practice meets certain defined quality and safety standards in the administration of cancer care. In order to achieve QOPI® Certification, this oncology practice has participated in QOPI® and met or exceeded a benchmark score on measures that compared the quality of their care against national standards.
