At CHI Health, we believe in the power of education. That’s why—as partners with Creighton University School of Medicine—we’re shaping a new future for Academic Health. Together, we’re taking education, research and innovation well into the future.
Advantages of Academic Health Care
Taking learning beyond a single campus
What does it mean to be an Academic Health System? It means that CHI Health is taking education, research and collaboration beyond the classroom. We’re taking it to every hospital, every clinic, every clinical touchpoint. We’re bringing more minds to every patient. And we’re advancing tomorrow’s health care innovations.
Hands-on Education
CU medical students work side by side with CHI Health clinical specialists throughout the system, collaborating on a diverse range of patients and health issues.
Clinical Research
Academically-focused research programs will lead to scientific breakthroughs in patient care – advancements that can truly transform the health of our communities.
Next Generation Innovation
By fusing academic medicine and research, we’re bringing the best minds together to develop future technologies, better processes and more advanced treatments.
What Can an Academic Health System Offer Me as a Patient?
More Minds to Collaborate on Your Care
From new residents to nurses to multidisciplinary specialists, an Academic Health System brings teams of experts to everyday care. Medical students and residents work side by side with experienced, board-certified physicians in every major specialty. That means more minds are always at work for you, providing the highest possible levels of care throughout the entire system.
The Latest Medical Technology and Discoveries
The hallmark of an Academic Health System is research. That means new discoveries, treatments and technology will be happening right here in your community. Not only will you have access to the latest care innovations, our students will be directly involved in transforming the future of care and passing their knowledge on to the next generation.
Expertise for More Complex Medical Issues
As one of the region’s leading Academic Health Systems, we’ve attracted specialists from every discipline—seasoned caregivers who have experience with a broad range of complex medical and surgical issues. Not only do they bring knowledge to these cases, they collaborate with each other, ensuring that you have the right treatment options for whatever health issue you may be facing.
Opportunities to Participate in Clinical Research Trials
Medical research is vital in finding new and better ways to improve lives, cure diseases and manage ongoing health issues. As a leader in clinical research, we conduct a wide array of clinical trials, working with patient volunteers. These patients have access to the latest drugs, treatments and technology, and they play an important part in helping transform future care for our entire community. As a CHI Health patient, you may be eligible to participate in a clinical trial. Talk with your doctor to find out if a clinical trial might be right for you.
