What Happens to the Brain During a Stroke?
June 04, 2018
Most of us, as we age, arteries in the neck and the brain have a tendency to form a plaque. Plaque is nothing more than calcium inside the artery, like a bump on the road. When there are additional risk factors, the road bump, or plaque, gets bigger, which has a tendency to create this clot on top of it, which potentially can fly further and block the artery. Many times it is sudden, has no major reason, so this is one of the additional reasons a patient can have a stroke.
