Dr. Ramaekers presented with Physician Excellence Award

Grand Island, Neb. — CHI Health St. Francis celebrated National Doctors Day on Thursday, March 30, and recognized several outstanding physicians for their excellent work in the medical community.

Dr. Ryan Ramaekers was presented with the annual Physician Excellence Award. The other nominees included Dr. Joshua Anderson, Dr. Vinay Singh, Dr. Sara Graybill and Dr. Traci Rauch.

Ramaekers, a medical oncologist at the St. Francis Cancer Treatment Center, trained at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha where he was Chief Oncology/Hematology Fellow in 2008 and 2009. A native of south central Nebraska, Ramaekers joined the St. Francis Cancer Treatment Center in August 2009.

Ramaekers serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology at UNMC. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology.

Sitki Copur (2009), Dr. John Cannella (2010), Dr. Timothy Gardner (2011), Dr. Richard Fruehling (2012), Dr. Kim Mickels (2013), Dr. Jennifer Brown (2014), Dr. Corey Ohlson (2015), Dr. Thomas Nabity (2016) and Dr. Jiri Brabec (2017).

March 30, 1933, was the first observance of Doctors Day in Winder, Georgia. In 1991, National Doctors Day was proclaimed by President George Bush.
