Griffith Named Director of CHI Health St. Francis Foundation
May 17, 2018
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Melissa Griffith has been named as the new director of the CHI Health St. Francis Foundation.
While new to this role, Griffith has been a part of St. Francis for more than a decade, serving as a member of the St. Francis Foundation Board of Directors and, more recently, on the St. Francis Community Board. Griffith’s passion for St. Francis and its mission has been evident through the time she has spent volunteering in those leadership roles.
“Something that has impressed me about Melissa is her knowledge of Grand Island and the people who live here,” said Ed Hannon, St. Francis president. “Her understanding of our community and experience in working with not-for-profits will be instrumental as she directs our Foundation activities and fundraising. We have an exciting future at St. Francis and Melissa will be instrumental in connecting our community to the great things happening here.”
Griffith previously worked as an executive account advisor for Credit Management (2015-2018), a district director for Junior Achievement of Lincoln-Grand Island District (2006-2015) and as marketing director at Conestoga Mall (2002-2015). She is currently working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and has a certification in Marketing II from Michigan State University.
Griffith replaces Claire Aguilar, who is planning to retire. Hannon said Aguilar will stay on with the Foundation for a limited time to work with Griffith to ensure a smooth transition.
“We are very grateful to Claire for her leadership of the Foundation and for her generous assistance as we pass the baton to Melissa,” Hannon said.
