CHI Health St. Elizabeth Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Program Receives Top Honors
September 11, 2019
Out of all the hospitals it works with nationally, SerenaGroup® has named the CHI Health St. Elizabeth Advanced Wound Care Center’s Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Program the top performing program in the country.
According to SerenaGroup®, the Advanced Wound Care Center at St. Elizabeth has performed the largest number of hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments for three consecutive months compared to the other facilities it works with across the U.S. In August alone, St. Elizabeth’s hyperbaric oxygen therapy program completed 199 treatments.
“We are thrilled to see this kind of growth in nine months’ time,” said Christi Chaves, director of the CHI Health St. Elizabeth Regional Burn and Wound Center. “It demonstrates the need for this service and the positive results impact both the patients and the referring physicians.”
SerenaGroup® provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy education to the Advanced Wound Care Center staff at St. Elizabeth. The Advanced Wound Care Center is part of the hospital’s Regional Burn and Wound Center and began its hyperbaric oxygen therapy program in November 2018 – the only program of its kind in Lincoln. St. Elizabeth currently has three hyperbaric oxygen chambers, including a chamber for bariatric patients.
