Groom’s Mom is Sick; Wedding Held at Hospital
January 24, 2017
When his mother became ill in September, groom-to-be Allen Fenderson and his fiancée postponed the wedding. When the mom was admitted to CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center last week, the couple moved the wedding again – to the hospital chapel.
Allen and Josie became husband and wife as a beaming mother of the groom watched from her wheelchair. She has been battling pancreatic cancer that has metastasized.
CUMC’s Staff Chaplain Barb Lenz officiated; CUMC staff hosted a small reception in the board room.
