Julie Goebel

Julie Goebel, MHA, brings more than 20 years of healthcare experience to the role of Chief Operating Officer of CHI Health and the Midwest Division of CommonSpirit Health.
Julie joined the Division in May 2022, coming from Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) in Springfield, Ill., where she served in many roles, most recently as the Division Vice President of Operations and Strategy Development. The Illinois Division of HSHS included nine hospitals, a level 1 adult trauma center, a level 2 pediatric trauma center, a level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care unit as well as a large multidisciplinary employed physician enterprise and a network of critical access hospitals around the region.
Julie has a long history and strong affinity for academic medicine. While at HSHS, she was responsible for the academic partnership with the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and led initiatives to expand the program across central and southern Illinois. Julie also developed and implemented strategic initiatives involving joint ventures, co-management agreements, acquisitions and divestitures with key partners across nine markets.
Julie has a Masters of Health Administration from Saint Louis University and a Bachelors of Community Health from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
