IBM Watson Top Quintile

CHI Health was recognized in the top quintile of health systems for 2018. The best-performing systems were among 338 systems evaluated on nine Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services measures. According to IBM Watson Health, based on the results of this year’s study, if all Medicare inpatients received the same level of care as those treated in the award-winning facilities:

  • Nearly 102,000 additional lives could be saved
  • More than 43,000 additional patients could be complication-free
  • More than $4.4 billion in inpatient costs could be saved

Approximately 200,000 fewer discharged patients would be readmitted within 30 days.

These hospitals are top performers in managing risk, achieving higher quality, securing better outcomes, increasing patient satisfaction and operating at a lower cost than their peers.
