Parent Education Support Group

A group for parents, guardians, foster parents, grandparents and caregivers of children with mental health needs.

Parent Education Support Group

CHI Health Behavioral Care is excited to offer a parenting support group designed to promote personal exploration and expression of parenting successes and challenges. Within this supportive and caring environment education, guidance, panel discussion, guest speakers and open conversation will be utilized to strengthen parenting.

A child's behavioral or mental health problems affect significant others and all family members. This includes parents. The goal of the Parent Support Group is to be a resource for parents as they support their child while they interact on a daily basis.

The CHI Health Behavioral Care Parent Support Group meets monthly and is FREE and open to all parents.

The group meets the second Thursday of each month via Zoom.

Now proud to partner up with the Nebraska Family Support Network*

Nebraska Family Support Network (NFSN) was the first Family Run Organization incorporated as a 501(c) 3 in Nebraska in 1993.  NFSN came into being to promote awareness of children’s mental/behavioral health issues, and to ensure that parents/youth had a voice in the systems that served or impacted them.  We are unique in that our primary qualification for service provision is our lived experience. All leadership and direct service staff have supported a child in one or more of Nebraska’s child/family service systems. All staff are well trained in a range of topics related to helping families/youth in addition to lived experience and have earned or are in the process of earning National or State Certification as Peer Support Providers. NFSN provided direct peer support services to 413 families last year, and served another 700 parents/youth in a range of activities. We believe in the power of families helping families and we are thrilled to be participating in offering support and helping to empower families at CHI.
