Alegent Creighton Health Cancer Center Accreditation

The CHI Health Cancer Center, with locations at all metro-Omaha Alegent Creighton Health campuses, has received a three-year Network Accreditation with Commendation from the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer (CoC).

The CoCis a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients through standard setting, prevention, research, education and the monitoring of comprehensive quality care.

Network Accreditation is a testament to the integration of cancer services and an assurance of one consistent standard of care governed by a single board of directors and a single cancer registry database that includes: Genetics, Clinical Trials, Counseling, Image Recovery and a Nurse Navigator program. This new accreditation replaces the individual hospital accreditations that Bergan Mercy, Immanuel and Midlands hospitals have held in the past.

“Thanks to all for all the hard work,” said Gamini Soori, M.D. and Network Cancer Committee Chair. “This is the highest designation that we can achieve for the Alegent Creighton Health Cancer Center. We are truly proud of this accomplishment.”

The physicians, Cancer Center staff and support team members made this accreditation possible.
