Leaders and FCN/Health Minister applicant(s) sign a covenant when the congregation is committed to developing a culture of health and wellness within their congregation and community, and are able to fulfill its requirements. The program belongs to the congregation. However, Alegent Creighton Health will provide training and resources to build capacity for a Health Ministry, based on the congregation’s own unique strengths and gifts.

We provide training to become a Faith Community Nurse (FCN), a lay Health Minister, or a Program Leader, and offer levels of membership in the Network:

  • Full Membership: An FCN or Health Minister will sign the covenant along with clergy/leadership of the congregation. They may attend training classes at no charge, will commit to attend four network meetings per year, volunteer an average of 8 or more hours a month, document activities, and assist in the creation of policies encouraging a culture of health in the congregation. We will provide education, information, resources, consultation and support to grow your ministry

  • Associate Membership: Is designed for an FCN or Health Minister who has a passion for promoting health and wellness but does not at this time have a congregation to sign a covenant. They may attend training classes at no charge, will commit to attend four network meetings per year, volunteer an average of 8 or more hours a month, document activities, and assist in the creation of policies encouraging a culture of health. We will provide education, information, resources, consultation and support to grow your ministry.

  • Program Leader Membership: A health professional or lay person will sign a program covenant along with clergy/leadership of the congregation to provide an intentional program that promotes health in the congregation/community, and will document outcomes. Alegent Creighton health will provide training, resources, consultation for program development, and will ask you to encourage a culture of health within the congregation/community.
