Preparing for a trip outside the country? Travel, whether for enjoyment or necessity can have associated risks. That's why CHI Health Travel clinics offer pre-travel counseling, immunizations and health advice for adults and children (Ages 6 and over) traveling outside of North America.
Although your travel agent may tell you immunizations may not be required for your particular trip, certain vaccines may be necessary to enter certain countries to prevent the transmission of disease into that country.
There are other immunizations available which may be appropriate for your own safety. During your travel cliniconsultation we also will discuss other ways to stay healthy while traveling.

How to Prepare
For either location, you'll need to complete a questionnaire and risk assessment prior to your appointment so your provider can evaluate your itinerary, and your medical and vaccine history.
You can never plan too far in advance, that’s why we recommend your initial appointment be as early as possible before departure. Some vaccines require 6 weeks and up to 6 months to assure coverage.
Your travel clinic visit will include assessing the following:
- Review of your itinerary
- Risk factors for health problems on your trip
- Review of your medical history
- Medical and emergency care while traveling
- Vaccine requirements and recommendations
- Prescription Recommendations
- Pre-existing Conditions
