Chief Nursing Officer
Brenda Bergman-Evans, interim chief nursing officer for CHI Health, previously served as vice president of Advanced Practice and program director of the Nursing Home Network, for which she led the design and implementation.
Dr. Bergman-Evans wrote the evidence-based article, Improving Medication Management for Older Adult Clients (2004; 2012). It served as the model for the Enhanced Care and Coordination Program, a four-year $5.2 million grant awarded in 2012 by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
At CHI Health, she serves as the nurse executive sponsor for Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders and the Nursing Research Council. She is also a member of the national CHI Nursing Research and Advanced Practice Leadership Councils.
Dr. Bergman-Evans served on the board of directors of New Cassel Retirement Center in Omaha and the Nebraska APRN Board. She is a frequent contributor and editorial board member for the Journal of Gerontological Nursing. She received the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners’ Nebraska Excellence Award (2007, 2014) and was named a fellow in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in 2015.
