"High Tech" Meets "High Touch"
At CHI Health, the difference in our cancer care program is the way we deliver it. There is something very personal about the way you will be treated here. Maybe it's due to our mission. Maybe it's due to the kind of people who work here. Or maybe it's a combination of both. Patients tell us stories about how remarkable their experience here was and that they are positive that this type of care simply isn't offered anywhere else in Omaha. At CHI Health, we surround our cancer patients with people who are personally committed to healing the body, mind and soul.
Nurse Navigator Program
The Cancer Nurse Navigator Program is designed to ease the burden on patients during their cancer treatment. A Nurse Navigator is an oncology-certified nurse who is available 24 hours a day to guide a patient through the entire process of diagnosis and treatment at the CHI Health Cancer Care at no additional cost to the patient. They assist with scheduling initial tests and consultations, collaborate with medical team members and help the patient and family members understand his or her diagnosis and identify the best plan for care. CHI Health is the only one in the region offering specially trained oncology nurses as their dedicated navigators, ensuring you receive clinical knowledge and expertise every step of the way.
Treating the Whole Person
What makes us different is what makes us better. At CHI Health, we go far beyond just treating the physical aspects of cancer. We provide our patients with spiritual, emotional and psychological support in order to help heal the whole person – body, mind and spirit. Our cancer support team consists of social workers, chaplains, dieticians, cancer nurse navigators and many others and their sole job is to make this journey as comfortable as possible.
