CT Scan - Spiral

Search all Services >> Print

spiral (helical) CT has improved the accuracy of CT scanning for many diseases. The word "sprial" refers to the shape of the path taken by the x-ray beam during scanning. This technology offers superior imaging and its speed is especially beneficial to elderly, pediatric or critically ill patients, or those for whom length of scanning could be a problem.

A vascular imaging technique, spiral angiograpy takes advantage of this techology to make it noninvasive and less expensive than conventional angiography. It enables doctors to see blood vessels without the need for more invasive procedures.
