Finally, one size fits all

Open MRI provides a better image for a more accurate diagnosis in a fraction of the time.

And the Open MRI is exactly what it sounds like — open and unrestrictive. The design accommodates patients of all sizes and is perfect for those who get anxious during an MRI.

It uses magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed images of the body. The open MRI Unit is designed with a wider opening and a very short tunnel, similar to a CT Scanner. This enables the claustrophobic and larger patient to be more comfortable during the scan.

MRI uses no radiation or X-rays. The exam consists of several scans of different angles and technical factors. Although you will feel nothing during your scan, you will hear a loud knocking sound as the scanner is operating. You may bring a music CD or request a particular radio station. Or if you choose, ear plugs are available. Some scans require the injection of contrast material (dye) to better visualize certain body parts. Many scans can be done feet first, allowing your head to be out of the scanner. The technologist will be outside the room but is able to see and hear you at all times.

Due to its short design, most exams can be done with your head outside of the system. No other MRI can offer that.
