Do you know someone from southwest Iowa who has significantly enriched the community? Take note - nominations are now being accepted for the 2017 Heritage Awards, a celebration that honors four individuals for their contributions to southwest Iowa. Nominations are due by Aug. 31, 2016.
Those nominated must excel in one of these four areas: arts and humanities; business; education; and health and human services, according to Christine Gochenour, manager of Volunteer & Guest Services for CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs.
“Through their professional or personal contributions, Heritage Award honorees have bettered our community and established a legacy on which future Heritage Award honorees will build,” said Gochenour.
When submitting nominations, please note:
- Contributions to the community may or may not be related to the candidates’ profession/job.
- Candidates must have performed significant professional duties and volunteer services in southwest Iowa.
- Candidates must be willing to accept the award and be able to attend the Heritage Award Dinner on March 25, 2017.
The 2017 honorees will be announced in The Daily Nonpareil in February. The Heritage Awards are coordinated by committee of community leaders and staff from CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs. Proceeds from the event support professional development opportunities for CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs employees.
