Dr. Christopher Mascott is an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery in the Surgery Department at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska.
Dr. Mascott graduated from the University of Lausanne School of Medicine in Switzerland. He completed a surgical internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City and neurosurgical residency in the McGill Neurosurgery Residency Programme in Montreal, Canada. He has fellowships in surgical neuro-oncology (Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York), epilepsy surgery (Montreal Neurological Institute), epilepsy, vascular and skull base surgery (University of Cincinnati) and medical epileptology (RCSI_ Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland).
After training, Dr Mascott was on the neurosurgical faculty (assistant professor) at Tulane University (New Orleans, LA) where he also served as local director of Neurosurgery for Tulane at Charity Hospital and was actively involved in the trauma committee and residency training. He was subsequently recruited to Toulouse, France at the full professor level. Prior to moving to Creighton University, he was founder and director of the clinical neurosciences program at UPMC Beacon Hospital in Dublin Ireland (owned and run by the University of Pittsburgh).
Dr Mascott is board certified in neurosurgery in the US, Canada, France, Ireland and the UK. He publishes on computer image-guidance strategies, epilepsy and neuro-oncology.
