Alegent Health Foundation’s inaugural community roast to raise funds for Midlands Hospital Emergency Department renovation and expansion project.

PAPILLION, Neb.—The Alegent Health Foundation invites friends and colleagues to poke fun at Suburban Newspapers’ Publisher Shon Barenklau along with Midlands Hospital Campus Quality Officer and Papillion Family Medicine physician Jeffry Strohmyer, M.D., at Evening with Friends on Thurs., Sept., 4, 2008 at 6 p.m. at Midlands Hospital. Barenklau and Dr. Strohmyer are honorees of the community roast, a new addition to the event, now in its third year.

The Evening with Friends gala kicks off with cocktails and dinner, followed by the community roast. One highlight of the event is the opportunity to bid on two tickets to golf’s most prestigious and high-profiled event, the 2009 Masters Golf Tournament, in Augusta, Georgia. The package is provided by Morrison Management Specialists and features two admission passes to the Masters Championship golf tournament Thurs., April 9 through Sun., April 12, 2009; lodging in an upscale private residence close to the course; and gourmet meals throughout the stay prepared by Morrison executive chefs.

Those interested in supporting the event can go online to Alegent.com/Evening for more information, to purchase tickets, place a bid to roast the honoree of their choice, bid on the Masters Tournament package or become a sponsor. The online bidding continues until Wednesday, August 27, 2008.

Proceeds from the event will go to support the hospital’s Emergency Department renovation and expansion project. This project is a part of Alegent Health Midlands Hospital’s $46 million enhancement initiative called Generation Patient.
