Alegent Health opens its sixth Quick Care Clinic inside 90th & Center Hy-Vee Store

OMAHA, Neb. –-You know the feeling—the runny nose, aching head and fever —all classic signs of a sinus infection.

Quick Care

You need antibiotics but its Friday night after five and your primary care physician’s office is closed. Now immediate relief is as easy as driving to your neighborhood Hy-Vee store. That’s where you’ll find Alegent Health Quick Care clinics which offer an alternative way to conveniently receive basic medical care. This week, the sixth Alegent Health Quick Care clinic opens for business at the 90th and Center Hy-Vee location.

The Quick Care clinics are staffed by highly trained physician assistants and nurse practitioners and are open from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends and holidays. The cost for each service is posted at the clinic and patients can conveniently pay with cash, checks and credit cards. While no insurance is filed at the clinic, patients can submit receipts to their insurance providers. Quick Care provides access to basic medical care—such as minor medical treatment, sports physicals, routine health screenings (for diabetes, high blood pressure and pregnancy) and adult immunizations—when needed. Alegent Health stresses that while Quick Care is not intended to replace a patient’s primary physician, it does offer an alternative way to conveniently receive basic care when needed.

Alegent Health opened its first Quick Care Clinic at the Hy-Vee on 156th and Maple Streets on January 10, 2006. Additional clinic locations open for business include the Hy-Vee on 180th and Q Streets, 35th and L Streets, 7910 Cass St. and at the Shadow Lake Towne Center Mall, 11650 South 72nd St., in Papillion, Neb. To date, roughly 13,000 patients have been seen at all six locations for common ailments—including sinusitis, upper respiratory infections, viral pharyngitis, bronchitis and ear infections—flu shots and sports physicals.

Alegent Health is the largest not-for-profit, faith-based healthcare system in Nebraska and southwestern Iowa with nine acute care hospitals, more than 100 sites of service, over 1,300 physicians on its medical staff and roughly 8,600 employees. Alegent Health is making healthcare better with an exceptional commitment to quality and by providing patient focused care for the body, mind and spirit of every person consistent with its faith-based mission. Alegent Health continues the health ministry begun by its sponsors, Catholic Health Initiatives and Immanuel Health Systems, more than a hundred years ago. At Alegent Health, patients and their families find a continuum of care, from women's and children's services, primary care, wellness counseling, and senior care to cardiovascular services, orthopaedics, oncology, physical rehabilitation, home care and behavioral health.
