Dinner parties and dessert and Champagne reception to raise funds for Women’s Imaging Center

PAPILLION, Neb.—The Alegent Health Foundation is inviting friends of Midlands Hospital to enjoy a night of dancing under the stars along with a dessert reception on Saturday, September 8, beginning at 8:30 p.m. at 1111 S. 84th Street in Papillion, Neb. Proceeds from An Evening with Friends will support the construction of the Women’s Imaging Center on the hospital campus.

An Evening with Friends kicks off with a series of dinner parties to be held at various locations prior to the dancing and dessert reception at Midlands Hospital. Entertainment for the evening will be award-winning singer Heidi Joy. Actor John Beasley, who will be performing at one of the private dinner parties prior to the dessert reception, will also join guests at the dessert reception to lend his support for early detection of breast cancer. The event will include a silent auction with several autographed Beasley DVDs and tickets to The John Beasley Theater’s production of the musical “Crowns”. A live auction at 9:45 p.m. will feature two passes to four days at the 2008 Masters taking place in Augusta, Ga., along with lodging and dinners prepared by a private chef. Guests can also purchase a $10 raffle ticket for the chance to win a diamond necklace donated by Borsheim’s Fine Jewelry. Sponsors of the event include Morrison Healthcare, Mainelli Mechanical Services, Otis Elevator, American National Bank, Aquila, Pinnacle Bank, Bank of Nebraska, Great Western Bank, Canteen Vending and Neon Products.

An Evening with Friends fundraiser will benefit the Women’s Imaging Center, one of many areas included in the hospital’s $42 million expansion and renovation project. The center will be located in a new ambulatory development being created on campus to provide high-quality diagnostic screenings with a special focus on early detection of breast cancer and feature state-of-the-art technology to aid in the early detection of breast cancer including digital mammography, bilateral MRI, stereotactic biopsy, ultrasound and MR guided biopsies, bone density screenings and ultrasound capabilities. The center will have additional amenities including extended hours, a soothing, relaxing atmosphere with ambient lighting and music, private waiting rooms and refreshments and snacks specifically for patients.
