Two New Vice Presidents Added to Alegent Health Family

Extensive, nation-wide search finds directors of Mission Services and Human Resources.

OMAHA, Neb.—Alegent Health is pleased to announce a national search results in finding experienced professionals to fill two important roles for the organization. Beth Llewellyn has been named vice president of Mission Services and Margaret “Peg” Breen has been named vice president of Human Resources and Consumer-Driven Health Care.

Llewellyn joins Alegent Health from Saint Joseph HealthCare in Lexington, Ky. where she served as vice president of Mission Integration. While there, she created a community-based coalition to work on health care access emphasizing wellness and preventive care. Her experience includes serving as the CEO of Select Specialty Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn., and she also spent time as a senior associate with the Catholic Health Association. Llewellyn holds a B.A. from the University of Kansas, an MA in Health care Administration from St. Louis University and a Master of Theological Studies from Emory University.

Llewellyn replaces Sister Norita Cooney, who stepped down from her role as senior vice president of Mission Services in 2006 to fulfill a vacancy for the Omaha Region of the Sisters of Mercy. She will join the Alegent Health family on June 25.

In her role as vice president Human Resources and Consumer-Driven Health Care, Peg Breen will focus her attention on Alegent Health’s efforts to build a diverse and engaged workforce that embraces quality, innovation and teamwork. Breen brings more than 15 years of experience in Human Resources to the organization, and is known for her delivery of outstanding results implementing business strategies related to talent assessment, compensation planning, recruitment and employee relations. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Human Resources, Service Delivery and Technology for Ameriprise Financial in Minneapolis, Minn. Her experience also includes similar positions with Sitel Corporation and Clarkson Hospital here in Omaha.

Breen holds a B.A. from Creighton University and a Masters of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She joined Alegent Health on June 18.
