Lasting Hope Recovery Center to Host May 9th Job Fair

OMAHA, Neb. —The Lasting Hope Recovery Center, a new behavioral health center scheduled to open at the end of this year, is holding a series of job fairs to recruit qualified behavioral health care professionals to join the team. The first of three job fairs will take place Wed., May 9, 2007, from 1-8 p.m. on the 6th floor of Alegent Health Bergan Mercy Medical Center.

The first phase of hiring will include registered nurses (RNs), medical technologists, pharmacists, licensed alcohol and drug abuse counselors and licensed social workers and mental health practitioners. Interested applicants are encouraged to bring a resume; on-site interviews will also be conducted. Candidates can also apply online prior to the job fair by going to and clicking on career opportunities.

Two additional job fairs are also being planned later this summer and early fall to fill non-health care related positions including house keeping, food service and business support.

The Lasting Hope Recovery Center—scheduled to open at the end of 2007—is a public-private partnership that will provide an array of inpatient services for people suffering from mental health and substance abuse issues. The 64-bed program is located in mid-town and will serve the needs of families and communities in the Omaha area. The Lasting Hope Recovery Center is being made possible through generous gifts from local philanthropists to a new non-profit foundation co-founded by local community leaders Ken Stinson and Rhonda and Howard Hawks. Local health care providers including Alegent Health and The Nebraska Medical Center will provide financial support and Alegent Health has agreed to operate the facility.
