Quad Rugby - CHI Health, Nebraska (NE) - Southwest Iowa (IA)

Quad rugby is a combines elements of wheelchair basketball, ice hockey and soccer, and is played on a regulation-size basketball court using a volleyball. Players use a reinforced wheelchairs that can withstand the competitive play of the sport.

Four players compete on each side of the court with each player being classified according to the level of their mobility impairment and assigned a point value for their classification. At all times, the sum of the classifications competing on each side can total no more than 8.0 points. The game consists of passing a volleyball back and forth while advancing into the opponent's half of the court. Scoring occurs when the opposing team crosses over the goal line with the volleyball.

The Midwest Rugby Rebels Quad Rugby team was founded in 2006. All athletes must have impairments in at least three of their four limbs. The season runs August-December.
